Waiting without an interview invitation is difficult, but silence alone does not establish the outcome. Focus on checking your application status and making useful, policy-compliant next steps.
Check That Each File Is Complete
Review portals for missing documents, secondary requirements, or messages. Check spam folders and contact information. If something is unclear, use the school’s stated inquiry channel and keep your message specific.
Read the School’s Interview Calendar
Schools differ in when and how they issue invitations. Compare your status with their published schedule rather than another applicant’s account. There is no universal month after which every school has finished interviewing.
Distinguish an Update, Interest, and Intent
An update reports a relevant new fact. A letter of interest explains continued interest. A letter of intent expresses a genuine commitment to one school if admitted. Do not send an intent promise simply because a calendar date has arrived or because you want an interview.
Follow Communication Rules
Check whether a school accepts updates or additional letters, at what stage, and through which channel. Respect any restrictions. If communication is allowed, provide concise, truthful information rather than repeating your application or requesting special treatment.
Prepare for More Than One Outcome
Continue meaningful commitments and prepare for interviews that may arrive. Review your school list, timing, prerequisites, and application quality with a qualified adviser. If reapplication becomes necessary, use a considered improvement plan rather than assuming a particular score or activity guarantees admission.
