Don’t Do These Things After An Admissions Interview

Failing to follow up.

It is very crucial that you send this thank-you mail. You can also save it in your calendar! You can even scribble some notes on the palm of your hand if you have to just so you can remember to follow up.

Strictly following a general outline.

Don’t use verbatim the outline you want to employ as the premise of your thank you email. If you do this, you’ll have a generic email, which your interviewer could also find online. Ensure that your email sound very original. You can also discuss something that is not covered in the outline, but ensure that this extra content makes sense and that it will enable your interviewer to understand that the interview meant a lot to you.

Don’t Panic If You Make A Mistake In A Thank You Note After an Interview!

If you keep making mistakes trying to compose a thank-you mail after the interview, understand that it is not the worst thing that could happen! Most interviewers will not mind a minute mistake, and they would probably sympathize with a nervous wreck. Note that interviews are just a percentage of the criteria colleges take into consideration while processing admissions; the most important criteria may be the remaining part of your profile. (Diligently follow the advice above.)

Now that you know the things to avoid after an interview, follow the above guidelines and you’ll get the hang of your interview in no time.
