For typical NP school admissions clients, we suggest applying to at least five to eight programs (divided between safety, mid-range, and reach programs) to maximize the chances of gaining admission. Given the competitive nature of top NP programs, we recommend a strategic mix that balances program selectivity with your clinical experience and academic profile.

To maximize the chances of gaining admission to competitive NP programs, we strongly suggest applying to at least six to ten programs. This is especially important for highly sought-after specializations like Psychiatric Mental Health NP and Acute Care NP.

***Our experience shows that without a waitlist appeal letter or letter of continued interest, the applicant has a 12% chance of getting off a waitlist at a competitive NP program. With a good waitlist appeal letter and waitlist campaign, that moves up to 45%. A waitlist campaign involves contacting the school on multiple occasions to remind them of your accomplishments and continued interest.
